What will we get? Expand

A course contains a number of modules. Each module covers a major topic on the BCS syllabus for the topic concerned. Click here to see details about the BCS certificates and diplomas.

Modules contain a number of lessons. Lessons cover the sub-topics from the relevant BCS syllabus.

Lessons are deliberately kept short and focused. You cover the material in bite sized chunks.

Lessons use a number of approaches such as video, text, images, interactive activities and quizzes and exercises.

What is the format of a lesson? Expand

Video overview of the lesson.

An animated video at the start of the lesson takes you through the essentials.

Workbook.

The video is supported by an online ‘workbook’ that contains more detailed, but still focused, information to support the BCS syllabus for your course.

Online multi-choice questions for the lesson topics.

Each lesson features an online quiz that contains multi-choice exam style questions on the lesson topics.

Case Study with scenario based questions .

These questions require you to create your answers rather than select from a set of provided answers.

Where relevant to the course, you will create models, e.g. of processes, tasks, data or events.

The case study questions will help you consolidate and reinforce your knowledge which will also help to prepare you for using relevant techniques in your business analysis career.

The case study questions all have annotated ‘model answers’.

End of course practice exams

The final module of a course contains one or more practice exams.

Online support whilst you take your course.

Throughout your course you will receive emails from us providing guidance and encouragement.

You may contact us at any time during the course by using a ‘member only’ contact form. This contact form is only available to people who have purchased a course.

Are the courses that support the BCS syllabi accredited by the BCS? Expand

These courses are not accredited although many of them will be based on material created when Capiro was a BCS accredited exam and training provider.

We gave up our accredited status in 2017. We did this because the BCS demanded that accredited providers had to run a certain number of exams each year. This would have entailed a change to our business model that we were unwilling to make.

What is your authority? Expand

All of our courses are created and maintained by BCS approved trainers who have been involved in training people in business analysis for many years. In particular, during that time they have been extensively involved in BCS business analysis certification.

The Capiro team are also experienced business analysis practitioners with track records in business changes programmes and projects.

Some team members were early adopters of modern techniques such as data analysis, business process improvement and business rules.

We have worked with and trained teams from a wide variety of organisations, national and international, commercial and administrative, including some of the world's best known management consultancies.

Capiro, was previously accredited as a training and exam provider by the BCS. We gave up our accreditation when the BCS changed its terms and conditions in a way that was incompatible with our business model.

We received great feedback from our live, classroom based training sessions. Our online courses are based on these same courses, totally rethought and redesigned for online presentation.

We are now receiving great feedback and exam success with our online e-learning courses.

We recommend that you try to book an exam place immediately on purchasing a course. Give yourself a few weeks between the date you purchase the course and the date you take the exam. This will give you ample time to study the material in detail, at a steady pace to fit in with your other commitments and interests.
